UPDATE ON ROAD CLOSURE, BUILDING SITE TRAFFIC, AND UPCOMING POWER OUTAGE

The Street/Silchester Road closure – 10-14 November 2025

Bramley Parish Council is aware of SE Water’s plans to close The Street/Silchester Road for 5 days the week beginning 10th November 2025. As we understand it at the moment, the road between the Minchens Lane junction and the Cufaude Lane junction will be closed completely, and further east over the level crossing and near the One Stop will only be open for access only. These details are on https://one.network/uk. Bramley Parish Council is seeking urgent verification of this, and will update the community as soon as we have more information.

Solar farm traffic movement

Bramley Parish Council has been speaking with the contractor handling the traffic management for Bramley Solar Farm. We are aware that 4-way traffic lights have appeared this week at the junction of The Street with Minchens Lane. We understand that the planned lorry movements for this week (w/b 27/10/25) will now not be happening, and although the lights will remain in place they will not be operational. The contractor, Metlen Group, tell us that they are reviewing their traffic management plan to try reduce the impact on Bramley Village as much as possible. We have no further detail at present, but we continue to stay in touch with Metlen Group and will update the community as soon as we have any further news. Should you have any questions for the contractor, please contact Antonis.Karafotakis@metlengroup.com
