Vegetation cutting schedule

Bramley Green was due to have it’s first cut of the season in the last week of July. Unfortunately, due to the weather conditions, this did not happen. The contractors were unable to carry out the cut because the wet grass would clog up their machines, and because they do not want to damage the Green in any way, which heavy machinery on wet ground could well do.

The cut is now scheduled for later this week, probably on Wednesday/Thursday, but may be Thursday/Friday if the weather today is wetter than forecast. The sightlines and path across the main part of Bramley Green were done last week, and will be maintained on a regular basis. The autumn cut for Bramley Green is schedule for late September/early October.

Bramley Parish Council is also aware that the pavements along Sherfield Road, from Campbell Road up as far as Strawberry Fields, are also overgrown. We will be addressing these this week, as it represents a safety risk to leave it. It should be noted that these would usually be the responsibility of HCC Highways. As ever, if any resident has an issue with any highway or pavement, it should be reported to Highways via the HCC website – www.hants.gov.uk/transport/roadmaintenance
