Bramley Parish Council and Borough Council ward councillors have been speaking with the contractor for the Solar Farm on various issues, particularly surrounding the traffic lights at Minchens Lane, and the number of lorries coming into the village from the east and over the level crossing. The Project Manager for the traffic management assures us that all site traffic has been firmly reminded of the need to come from the west of the village, and are taking punitive measures with any traffic that does not adhere to that. Further, they are looking at the phasing of the traffic lights and additional signage to help prevent any further issues.
Solar Farm site traffic should carry a marker to identify them – we are told that this is a ‘1A’ displayed in the windscreens of lorries.
As before, Bramley Parish Council strongly recommends that any site traffic witnessed coming in or out via the level crossing, or any issues with the traffic lights, are reported to Borough Council enforcement officers at https://www.basingstoke.gov.uk/planning-enforcement or directly to the contractor at Antonis.Karafotakis@metlengroup.com.
Bramley Parish Council will continue to monitor the situation and liaise with contractors as necessary.
